After an assessment is completed the next critical phase is to prepare specifications for each  modifications required for remediation.  The  components included will be unique for each client but generally include many of the following:

AXIOM believes there are several critical alternatives that need to be considered during the specification phase of 5010 implementation. 
 
If extensive remediation work is defined  it may be the time to consider other alternatives.  You want to ensure mistakes and assumptions made by many in the initial HIPAA implementation are not adopted in your remediation strategy.  You will want to explore all remediation, insulation or replacement options.  It may be time to consider offering or enhancing your web or portal functions especially for Providers.  AXIOM  has both designed custom award winning portal applications and also provides a web based portal product that supports many of the request response requirements that are not easily implemented into an organization.
